I'm up early after staying up late. So I'm kind of down. However, my late night was entirely worth it. I saw Hayden put on a tight, long set at Café Montmatre (I sound like I'm talking about tight jeans or something--no, his pants were pretty loose), which made an otherwise disappointing day seem worthwhile. I was expecting it to be a friend-filled day, with Brian, Jaime, and Stephanie coming from the Milwaukee area and Matt and Alycia accompanying us. But plans fall through, other bands cancel, people lack fake IDs, and rain pours. Overpriced ($7 each!) drinks were Frank's and my only companions at the show.
Getting up early (4AM) was worthwhile as well. I am now almost done with a paper I've been putting off for a few weeks. My procrastination has allowed me to obsess over more interesting things. I am still debating, actually, whether this is a good thing.
Well, good morning, sunshine. Good morning, tweeting birds. Good morning, you mark 29 days left of staying up and feeling down, balancing extracurricular excitement with educational obligations.
