I just had the tastiest breakfast I have ever eaten. An omelet with artichoke, basil, garlic, and feta with potatoes and Alterra Coffee. Perhaps you can sense my mouth watering just typing about it. Anyone who lives in or visits Madison should go to the tiny café and bakery Sofia's. I can't believe I never went there when I lived only a block away.
In other restaurant news, I am officially re-employed at the Sunroom Café. Now that is a place that seems to have a set script with recurring roles, but a changing cast. It was frightening how quickly all the procedures came back to me, as well as all the bad habits. Sneaking a free banana-blueberry-raspberry-pineapple smoothie. Camping out on table 51, doing the crossword puzzle. Glaring at customers until they realize that we've been closed for an hour, and that the entire staff is waiting for them to leave. I think it is way too easy for me to just do what I have always done. Being a lousy waitress just comes naturally, I guess.
Last night at the SRC there was this menthol smell permeating all around the counter area. While this may sound refreshing, it lingered. The scent grew overpowering, I almost felt asphixiated.
And to follow my own advice; it is finally a beautiful day. I should really be outside enjoying it instead of sitting with my eyes transfixed on a glowing screen and strained by artificial light.
